How much does it cost to make a website?

One number up front: at Volodina Web Studio, websites start from €999 – where the price ends up depends mainly on scope, content and features. This article explains why, and how the different routes to a website compare.

The short answer: price follows effort

A website has no standard price because it is not a standard product. The more pages, content and features, the more individual the design and the more languages, the more work sits behind it. A single landing page is therefore a different project from a multilingual company website with a blog – even though both are called “a website”.

These factors determine the price

  • Scope: the number of pages and sections. But not only that: even a single page needs structure, clear copy and clean technical work.
  • Content: if you bring finished copy and photos, it saves time. If the copy has to be developed together, that is part of the work.
  • Design: an adapted template is cheaper than a layout designed specifically for your offer.
  • Features: contact form, booking, blog, shop or connections to other systems add effort.
  • Languages: every additional language means more copy, review and its own SEO structure – Arabic adds right-to-left design on top.
  • Technology and search engines: loading speed, mobile display and a clean foundation for Google are work you do not see – but notice when it is missing.

Builder, freelancer, studio or custom: how do the routes differ?

A builder has low start-up costs, but ongoing fees and your own working time. A freelancer usually works personally and directly with you, but is limited to one person. A studio or agency bundles several roles and usually has a more structured process – and correspondingly higher prices. A custom-built website costs more at the start than a template, but needs no plugin maintenance and can be tailored exactly to your offer.

Which route fits when is covered in detail in the article Website builder, WordPress or custom website: what fits?.

What a quote should include

Ask what exactly is part of every quote – only then can prices be compared at all:

  • Clarifying goal and target audience, plus a page structure
  • Design and mobile implementation
  • Technical implementation including loading speed
  • SEO basics such as titles, descriptions and heading structure
  • A clear path to getting in touch
  • Who writes the copy, what applies after launch and who owns the website in the end

Real prices: how to place the packages

On the Pricing page you can see what each package includes. For orientation: Clear Start (landing page) starts from €999, the Business Website with several pages from €2,900, and the Premium Website with extended structure and possible multilingual setup from €4,900. Projects with special requirements, such as a shop or platform, are quoted individually – on request.

These are starting prices (“from”), not fixed prices for every project: where your project lands depends on the factors above.

How to proceed

First clarify what the website should achieve. Then the right format can be chosen – you will find an overview under Have a website built. And if you would like an assessment of scope and cost for your project, the free initial consultation is the easiest way: non-binding and without any preparation.

Do not start with the question “Where is it cheapest?”, but with “What should this website do for my business?”. Then the price becomes easier to understand – and the result more useful.
